CDL Training Instructor Spotlight - Roadmaster Drivers School

Chaz Whigham, one of Roadmaster’s many skilled and affable instructors, gives prospective CDL students and current truck drivers a little insight into his process of becoming an instructor: "I was pre-hired by Warner Enterprises, and I got out of school, went to Warner, drove for them for a little over three years, became an on-the-road trainer with them, decided that I liked teaching, and, therefore I applied back at Roadmaster. So, now I'm a teacher where I graduated. "I think if you value your home-time but still want to be in the trucking industry, it's a great job because you have a set schedule and you get to go home every night and be with your family and earn a paycheck doing what you love. We're always looking for instructors, and I think if you're a responsible driver with a clean record, and maybe you're looking for a change and you want to get off the road and have a more stable home time and more time with your family, it's a great opportunity. "I get a satisfaction out of seeing students complete their course. Just last week I had a very large man come up to me and give me a big hug and say that he couldn't have done it if he didn't listen to what I'd told him. And he was just very thankful and it just makes you feel good to know that you helped somebody out, and they can go out there and further their self and earn a wage for their family and have a career."
